Jo came to ceramics as a second career in 1999 when she followed the Ceramics Diploma course at The City Lit, after finishing the course she set up a studio in South East London where she has been developing her work. At the moment the porcelain slip cast forms are treated as an artist uses a canvas, layering slips, glazes and other ceramic materials to create textured surfaces. Often mounted on steel the forms are given another dimension, a combination of strength and fragility a phrase that is often used in her work. The stimulus for the work arises from a fascination with geology, time and the interaction of both of these elements on natural and manmade structures. Past exhibitions include:
