Diana Croft

Diana Croft was born and brought up in Whitstable, Kent. She attended Canterbury College of Art followed by a degree course at Brighton Polytechnic in Graphic Design/Illustration. Since leaving college in 1982, Diana has explored many aspects of printmaking. She has worked as a professional editioner of multi-plate colour etchings and as a part-time tutor at the London College of Printing. Her worked has been exhibited widely in the UK, including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, The Pastel Society Open Exhibition, The Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers Open Exhibition, The Contemporary Print Fair and the Battersea Affordable Art Fair. Diana has travelled extensively, living for a year in Brunei, where she was inspired by the rich colours and lush vegetation of the tropics. She also produced a series of prints inspired by a trip to Morocco. Now living in Dorking, Surrey, she has set up an etching studio in her house where she produces her prints. Her work is now mainly concerned with collagraphs which she produces in small editions using layers of handmade paper, silver leaf and strong colours to produce richly textured, decorative prints, each one unique.
